What to do if your recipient does not receive your heavy file sent with Podmailing
Case 1: he does not receive the notification e-mail
If the recipient does not receive the podmail notification e-mail, it is probably due to his overzealous anti-spam filter. In that case, you have to ask him to:
- Search for the e-mail in his spam box to mark it as "non-spam".
- And to add to his address book - which will allow your next podmails to be better considered by his filter.
Do not forget to check if he has used the proper e-mail address to reach you - keystroke mistakes happen.
Case 2: he has properly received the notification e-mail but the transfer does not start
In that case, wait a few minutes, the transfer may start with a delay. Otherwise, it is probably due to the recipient using an Internet connection limited by a very strict firewall, as some are encountered in corporate networks.
- If he has access to his firewall configuration, ask him to configure it to accept the TCP & UDP communications on port 7890. He may forward this request to his network administrator if he has one.
- Otherwise, advise him to try from another computer, from home for instance.
If the solutions explained above do not solve the problem, do not panic. In a future version, Podmailing will support downloads through any kind of firewall.
